Hi all,
Ok say if someone sends you a PQN and you don't answer it right away and they log off the site and when you reply to their message you think it's going to them but it actually goes to someone else instead and you don't even mess with the arrow keys to select any names, has anyone ever had this?

not to me, if the person is gone it says user has logged out in the qn. if i send it before they leave, they will see it the next time they log in

It depends on when they log out. If they send, you read, you start typing, they log out, you send...then they'll get it when they next log in. If they send, they log out, you read... then their name won't be in the box because when the box was created they weren't logged in. It should tell you at the beginning of the quicknote that the user has logged out however.

Chris you are correct, and in my experience, it sets the box back to the default all users.

If you don't have publics on, it goes to the first person on the list.

Since I'm sometimes the first person on the list, I think I've gotten a few misdirected messages. That's not as bad as it was before they made your user name the default user. I irresponsibly met several zoners that way. <lol>

Yes, you just need to be careful to check whose name is in the box.

I actually thought we'd fixed it so that if you had publics off, the combo box would always pre-select your own user name to avoid that very happening. That was the intention anyway. Is that not working properly?

Dan.

Hi Dan.
It usually works. The only time it doesn't is when we get a quicknote from somebody after they logg off. In this kace we have got the first person in the list sellected. But if we don't recieve a quicknote our name is sellected.

Yes, it works most of the time. I can't tell you how many delightful conversations I have had with myself. LOL

Yeah Dan that feature works for me but what is happening that I'm telling everyone is when people send me messages privately and they log off, then it looks like the message that one user is writing to me is from another user instead of the user who writes the message. So here I am writing to this person and another person would reply and I'm like the hell? How'd this person ends up replying when I intend to send the message to the person who writes me and logs off. I don't know how it's being done, I think what happens is as they log off they tell another user to message me even though they don't say that such and such told me to message you and that's where the confusion comes in.

To give you folks an example of what I'm talking about, here's what happens.
Say for instance happy little ines writes to me and says hi, then she logs off, I'd get the message saying the person has logged off but here's another thing, send quicknote to colon combo box Harp. And here I'm thinking I'm writing to Ines when in fact I'm writing to harp without realizing it and harp replies to me and says hi. There's the confusion.

When it says sender logged out it means simply that you can't reply. So read the quicknote and don't reply. It's not difficult really. But maybe the name in the list should be our name so the people who decide to reply they can reply to themselves.

Cool idea.
